A Postgraduate visual communication course assignment. Dementia Aware is a acronym for Dementia Awareness. A public awareness programme in Nigeria aimed at removing stigma and misconceptions about dementia. The campaign aims to improve Nigerians’ mental health by demonstrating that dementia isn’t as severe as it appears. They can live longer if properly taken care of.
Design Thinking
The campaign features smiling faces of people living with dementia. Even with dementia, life goes on, there’s still hope, and utilising strong portraiture series instead of gloomy photos to signal dementia can grin is a good way to start.
To express hope, the brand uses a bright palette inspired by Dementia’s bright, clean colour. The sun ray, as the identifying emblem, represents upliftment and a grin, and was inspired by human hands and the sun ray.
